Peter Rubardt
Sara Davis Buechner, Piano
Saenger Theatre
Soaring excitement and thrilling musicality come together for the opening of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra’s 98th season. Featuring large orchestral forces, offstage brass and the Saenger’s pipe organ, Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome is a testament to the composer’s ability to share vivid imagery through music. This magical program also features Paul Dukas’ A Sorcerer’s Apprentice, of Fantasia fame, along with Jacques Ibert’s Escales (Ports of Call) and the return of pianist Sara Davis Buechner for Richard Strauss’ Burleske.
