About the Performance

Immerse yourself in an evening of revolutionary orchestral masterpieces that transformed the sound of classical music. The concert opens with the sweeping passion and transcendent beauty of Richard Wagner’s Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde. The dreamlike atmosphere continues with Nocturnes by Claude Debussy, a shimmering Impressionistic masterpiece that was inspired by the paintings of James McNeill Whistler. The evening culminates in the explosive energy and primal power of The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky, the groundbreaking work whose driving rhythms and raw intensity shocked audiences and forever changed the course of modern music.

Tickets are available now when you add this concert to your purchase of a Masterworks, Pops, or Super Series subscription. Individual concert tickets go on sale September 3.
