Mahler Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection”

With a large orchestra, as well as a chorus, two soloists, and offstage brass, Mahler’s Second Symphony is a monumental masterwork. In its sublime ending, majestic and awe-inspiring, a heavenly choir sings, and in that moment, Mahler wrote, “a feeling of overwhelming love fills us.” In this special artistic collaboration, the orchestra will be joined by Martha Guth, soprano; Susan Platts, mezzo-soprano; and the UWF Singers and The Choral Society of Pensacola.

This concert will be performed without intermission.
