Playout! Student Workshop Day Two

Join us for the annual Playout Workshop for student musicians from June 25-27, 2026. Open to rising 7th – 12th grade students and class of 2026 students, this workshop will feature opportunities for coaching from PSO’s professional musicians, sectionals, and playing in a chamber or symphonic ensemble.

All students will participate in a free concert for friends and family at the conclusion of the workshop on Saturday, June 27, at 1:45 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Pensacola Sanctuary.

To participate in Playout!, sign up by June 19.

This year, there are two opportunities for participation:

Playout! Orchestra – The Playout! Orchestra is designed for students experienced in performing and is open to rising 7th to 12th and class of 2026 students. Playing Requirements

Junior Strings – The Playout! Junior Strings Ensemble is a strings-only program designed for younger string players who are new to performing in groups. This ensemble is open to rising 7th grade students and up who have 3 years’ experience playing their instrument. Playing Requirements

Thursday, June 25
9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Playout! Orchestra Strings and Junior Strings

Friday, June 26
9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Junior Strings
9 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Playout! Orchestra Strings, Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, and Piano

Saturday, June 27
9 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. – All Playout! Orchestra and Junior Strings Students
1:45 – 3 p.m. – All Playout! Orchestra and Junior Strings Students
Free Concert for Friends at Family at the First Baptist Church of Pensacola Sanctuary

Auditions are not required for participation. Optional principal chair auditions are open to students participating in the Playout! Orchestra. Audition recordings are due by May 29. Principal Chair Auditions

Snacks will be provided each day, and lunch will be provided on Friday and Saturday. All students will also receive a Playout! t-shirt.
