Symphonic Spectacular Dress Rehearsal

Join us for a working dress rehearsal of the Symphonic Spectacular program. The orchestra will work to polish each piece, with adjustments to nuance, balance, and blend. Many pieces will be played in their entirety, and certain sections will be retouched with starts and stops. The program includes the sweeping passion and transcendent beauty of Richard Wagner’s Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde. The dreamlike atmosphere continues with Claude Debussy’s Nocturnes, a shimmering Impressionistic masterpiece that was inspired by the paintings of James McNeill Whistler. The program also includes the explosive energy and primal power of Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, the groundbreaking work whose driving rhythms and raw intensity shocked audiences and forever changed the course of modern music.
