Maestro Peter Rubardt’s 30th season commences with the vibrant energy of Dvořák’s Carnival Overture, the soaring melodies of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, and the intensity of Medea’s Meditation and Dance of Vengeance and Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé, Suite No. 2.
Join us for the sparking charm and rhythmic vitality of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite, the drama of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24, and the youthful exuberance and radiant melodies of Symphony in C by Georges Bizet.
Beethoven & Blue Jeans returns with the composer’s Overture to Leonore No.3, Bedřich Smetana’s The Moldau, and Alberto Ginastera’s Dances from Estancia. Classical guitarist Jason Vieaux joins the orchestra for Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez.
Experience the monumental grandeur of Brahms’ Symphony No. 1, the sweeping emotion of Robert Schumann’s Manfred Overture, and a special performance of Northwest Florida composer David Ott’s Concerto for Two Cellos.
A monumental performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony as the orchestra is joined by four vocal soloists, Hattiesburg Choral Union and The Choral Society of Pensacola. The concert will also feature side-by-side performances of the Pensacola Symphony Youth Orchestra alongside our musicians.
